WeHigh goes to Funkytown

Here's what I learned yesterday: having interns bring instruments to the station and then trying to get them to get stuff done makes for an interesting experience. But luckily we were all pretty productive yesterday, despite a few drumming breaks. Heres what went down...

-Bryce and Lizzie wrapped up their show on teen expression. Its called "Express it" and they go talk to some people at Seattle Art Museum, youth speak, and our very own Artur Sapek. Give it a listen, its pretty darn interesting and made me feel like doing some art. Fingerpainting, anyone?

-Beno and Michelle continued working on their show about music.

-Artur returned from what he calls "hell" ( but in my experience, Ellensburg isn't really that bad) and began coming up with ideas for his upcoming shows. On our break he went and bought a huge tub of Mint chocolate chip ice cream from Rite Aid. I guess he was hungry.

-Keano set up some interviews with people at "Burning Building Records" about how the economy is affecting small record labels.

-And I came up with some ideas for my show with Artur on monday. Its gonna be fun, we have a sweet theme idea and lots of cool plans for stories.

We ended the day with a recorded jam sesh in what seemed like the worlds smallest recording booth when all seven of us were in it. I was on the djembe, Bryce played the spoons, Lizzie rocked out on an aluminum water bottle, Artur tried his hand at recorder, Michelle went crazy on the harmonica, Keano snapped and Beno stole the show with Lyrics like "Funkytown". It was good.
